In this tutorial, I will show you How to make a stencil with Cricut the easy way. Cricut machines are a great way to cut out your designs into reality. To create your stencils, you need to know how to prepare your design before you start.

If you are new to the graphic design field, I recommend you get your design from clipartlibrary. You will get different types of files that you can use. We will use this leaf sample. Right-click on the image and download it as a PNG file.

Importing your image to Cricut Design Space
Open Cricut Design Space and go then click upload and find the image we downloaded. Hit continue. Click on the image and hit insert image. The image is imported.
Convert to Cut file
At the top of the screen, you will notice a red slash signifying print and cut. Choose cut again to switch from print and cut to cut only.
Add a box around the design
Go to the shape and draw a rectangle shape around 7 by 7 inches. Select the shape and go to arrange it on top to send it to the back. Now the design is on top and square at the back.
Duplicate Designs
If you need multiple designs on one cut-out, click duplicate on the top right panel to duplicate designs to have them all over the space. Each duplicate created forms a layer so you will have as many layers as the duplicates.
Group Designs
Select all the designs and go to the top group button. The items are grouped. After that click on the weld buttons to have 2 layers.
How to Slice with Cricut Design Space
Center your design. With the design selected, go to the slice button on the bottom. After that, a stencil will be formed. You now need to get rid of the 2 top layers and cut the stencil layer.
Cutting Stencil on Cricut
To cut, go to make it then continue and click the material button. Choose your material and cut it out.
